If you’re reading this page then we’ve likely met at a tradeshow, spoken by phone or email, or you found this website by searching for a buyer for your closeouts on the internet (isn’t technology the best?). My name is Matt Miller – but you already know that…there’s that obnoxious photo of me on the homepage (my co-workers love to tell me how bad of a photo it is!)….my apologies for that.

The reason I created this website is for you to have the opportunity to get to know myself and MAC Wholesale. When you sell your closeouts & excess inventory outside your normal channels of distribution, you need to partner with a closeout distributor that you trust. I grew up in Massachusetts and studied Business at Babson College in Wellesley, MA. After graduating from Babson, I spent several years working in franchising. In franchising, I had the pleasure of supporting and maintaining relationships with over 150 small business owners. I was appointed to the Board of Directors for the New England Franchise Association – and built many relationships in both the retail and service industries throughout this time. While involved in franchising, and for several years after, I also co-founded an automotive retail and services company.

In 2013 I met Bruce Moyer, owner of MAC Wholesale and leader in the off-price industry. I decided to make the jump into the closeout industry, and I started out on the sales side of the company (before transitioning into buying). I am extremely grateful today for having had experience in sales prior to becoming a buyer. Not only did I gain an in depth understanding of the off-price retail industry, but I got to understand what it’s like to try to sell to retail buyers. Countless emails without responses, voicemails left without return calls, and occasionally, down-right rudeness. Don’t get me wrong – I know not all retail buyers are like this!!! But doesn’t this remind us all of at least a few experiences?  Based on my prior experience in sales, I understand what it’s like to be in your position in sales (assuming you’re a product manufacturer or distributor). I’ll treat you with respect, even if I need to pass on the offer, and I’ll always do my best to at least respond to your inquiry! I appreciate the time you’ve taken to put together an offer for me (unless you just put me on one of those email blast lists….come on, nobody likes that!) – and I hope to become your “first call of last resort” when closeouts become available.

Buying closeouts is something that I’ve discovered that I genuinely enjoy. I love meeting new people and building long-term relationships. Each day brings new opportunities, I never know what will be presented to me next for a closeout buy! I travel frequently to many of each retail industry’s biggest tradeshows – and have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know some of the leaders of the world’s largest brands.

I hope that this has helped you get to know me – as a potential partner in the long-term success of your company I don’t just want to be another voice on the other end of the phone or name behind an email.
